RÉSUMÉ
Christian is actually a professor in the faculty of Mathematics and Natural Science at his alma mater, Escuela Superior Politécnica del Litoral - ESPOL, in his native city, Guayaquil - Ecuador.
Chris got his undergraduate degree in Statistics at ESPOL in 2012. He obtained his PhD in Statistics degree in 2020, from the State University of Campinas, UNICAMP - Brazil, where he obtained his Master in Statistics degree as well. As a FAPESP fellow, he had the opportunity to work at the University of Connecticut, UCONN - USA, for one year (Oct 2018-2019) as a research scholar.
He considers himself an enthusiastic researcher whose initial works have allowed him to win several national and international awards and the opportunity to spread his research at conferences around the world. Christian is currently the Chair of the Young Statisticians Committee of the International Statistical Institute (2023-2025), a referee for several high-impact scientific journals, an elected member of the ISI, a member of various statistical societies worldwide, a member of the Early Career Advisory Board (ECAB) at the Journal of Multivariate Analysis, the 2020 young ambassador of the International Statistical Institute (ISI) to the IBC, and the author of 15 R packages. Furthermore, he has visited 37 countries, attending more than 50 congresses, with more than 30 oral contributions, 25 invited lectures, one session chair, two posters, and three short courses taught.
His Statistical interests are quantile regression, linear/nonlinear mixed-effects models, zero-quantile distributions, truncated moments for multivariate elliptical distributions, and censored models.
